First time boat owner! I will not be a yapping dog about it though
Me and the wife wanted a boat but I didn't want to spent $10k and find out we took it out twice and lost interest. Yucko
I purchased a 74 Imperial Tri-Hull with a mercruiser I/O 120 engine. The boat runs great. I replaced the fuel pump and took it out on the water already. It leans to the left some (which from research I gather is a lack of proper trim tabs maybe?).
My biggest issue is finding the little things to get this boat back to it's original look. Since it's an old boat most people don't make the parts for it anymore. Are my options junk yards? Are there any good internet resources that deal with boat restoration? I "think" the model of the boat I have is the "princess 1650" version. The title doesn't clearly state that part. Just that it's a 1974 Imperial. Google isn't being to much help about it either
The two things I want to do are redo the front seating area which you can see from the pics are nothing but wood. What is a good inexpensive resource on the internet for marine grade vinyl and foam? The other thing is the frills that are missing on the boat like the front rails, back rails, trimming, etc etc. Little things that make the boat look nicer. I'm sure that will be answered if someone has a good resource for restoration of older boats like mine.
As a new boat owner I have tons of questions
We were all new boat owners at some point. Some had the advantage of growing up around them. I'm diving in head first!! I've learned so much already. Still need to do the boater saftey course for sure
I want to thank everyone for taking the time to read this
I won't ask for anyone to be soft. Be hard on me! That's how we learn the best.
Thanks!!
Here is my photobucket link to my boat
You can see the things I need to do still. Should be fun!!!
