I just picked up a 1972 sears fiberglass boat and after seeing the restors on this web site i got excited and want to do some things to mine but i need some questions answered .
1.) when making the deck what thickness of would should i use also when im done making it do i attach it to the boat or does it just sit in the boat ?

2.) how do i attach the wood to the back seat so it will not pull off?

did this years ago to a 12ft semi-v used aluminum angle stock in sections 8 to10 inches and riveted them inside even with the seats. marine grade plywood,i think 5/8 or 3/4 covered by outdoor carpet bolted to the sections covered back and front sections on mine left middle open. boat got heavy no more car top, trailer only ***use stainless hardware**** or it'll rust by the weekend. dont forget about the front section storage I put hinges and a hatch for access. held up great

Be careful gamefisher's are not known for being too wide or stable. You may end up with a boat that has a reduced capacity and is tough to fish from.
