So... I resisted going the SS route for a long time. But I got a good price on a Turning Point Express mach 4 so I pulled the trigger. Same pitch, slightly bigger diameter.

At the same time, I also added nauticus trim tabs; the 60lbs variety.

My '16 Four Winns H190SS with the 4.3mfi and the alpha one outdrive really came alive. I've been tubing with 6 people in the boat and was starting to have a slower time getting on plane as my son and his friends got older.

With the new prop and the trim tabs with 6 adults in the boat it jumped on plane and I got an extra 4mph in the top end.

New setup: TP SS prop; 17 pitch. 14.5 diameter. Nauticus Trim Tabs.
Faster hole shot with 6 adults; top speed ~46mph with same load.

What pitch was your previous prop? How big are the trim tabs?

Trim tabs most always help to get a boat up on plane....the real question is...what is your max wot rpm ? This is the number you need to know if your hurtng your engine....Rpm to low and your hurting it and rpm to high is also hurting it !!

4.3 MFI has a rev limiter, so I never get beyond 4800 IIRC. It doesn't lug at all.

Good....but what is the mfgr's recommended max rpm at wot ? Rev limiter has nothing to do with max operating rpm. Limiter is just a safety item. If your always on the limiter, then you need more pitch on your prop.
