I have relocated from Maine to Florida and am now looking for some more performance. My stock 14x19 aluminum prop would give me 48+mph gps with full load. After banging up a coup[le times it was down to about 41. Then the big bang that required a new lower unit complete s I put on a SS piece. Here is the info I have so far:
boat: 2000 Lund ProV18SE (helm is not way back like in the LE)
Length 18'4" Width 92"
Hull weight: 1450
Engine: 2000 Yamaha VMAX 150 HPDI (not many hours) 468 lbs
Front Trolling motor MinnKota 65MX (no rear trolling motor)
2 group 27 Trojan batteries amidship below deck(next to helm)
1 group 27 starter battery mounted rear
rear livewell used sometimes for bait now
front livewell used for dry storage
2 people, cooler gear etc.
10-20 gallons of gas

orig 14x19 alum prop
bottom hole would do 48+ to 50+ depending on load, water, wind etc.at 5500 when new and loosened up to 5600 later. gps

new Yamaha SS 14 1/2 x 21 Pro 6J9-45976-10-00 marked 21M and vented
top hole (all the way down) 5400 rpm and 43.7 mph gps calm to slight chop
up 1 hole 5400 rpm 44.7 mph gps calm to slight chop

I need to head to the dealer to swap for another prop but unsure as to which one to ask for. HELP! Thanks, Fred

Re: new prop for Lund

I'm no expert but it appears to me the motor was pretty happy with the 14 X 19.You might look into a Hustler Turning point at 19" pitch. An aluminum prop with close to ss performance. If your not having any ventilation the motor may be too low.Raise it to a point just before venting becomes a problem.
Change one thing at a time.
