New prop

so I spun the cup in my prop. I have a 1977 Ebko 17.5 with a mercruiser 140 and have no idea what size was on it due to the stamping not being on the prop from wear. I ordered a 14.5x21p any thoughts of how well this will perform. I used a 13.5x17p yo get around for the weekend but the prop i spun would push the boat 42mph at 4600-4700 the 13.5x17p pushed it 20mph at 5600-5800rpm which I thought was excessive so I just kept the boat slow to prevent engine damage. any help will be appreciated

More like a 19 as a 21 is a little tall for a 140 unless boat is really light.....

How did wear wipe out the prop info? If it was a mercury prop it should have the part # on the outside of the hub between two of the blade roots. It may also have it on the hub where the propshaft exits
