I need a new Prop on my outboard, but I am confused on what to get. I have done some research between stainless steel and aluminum but it really dosent tell me what I need for my purpose. What is currently on it is a stainles steel that has seen better days. I was also told if I get a smaller prop that I could gain 3-4 mp/h in speed. is that true?
here is what I have as far as the setup goes.
16' 1993 Lowe Aluminum (model 1605)
50HP 1978 Mercury
the boat is very light, Last time I took it out (the first time after I got it) I was able to puch 27-28 mph. That was when the prop was in good condition. I demaged it when I was backing up in the garage. soo what is the best to get for this setup?
Thanks A lot
