Here is what happened:
Around Wed. 5:00PM MST, installing new server and doing the updates.
Somewhere in the process, things go bad and iboats looses internet service completely. Parts broke. People scrambaling to get it fixed. No way. Need parts NOW. Not going to happen. New parts ordered, but not due till Friday, then it has to be installed, then updated, adjusted and who knows what else, then with any luck Friday or Saturday or ............... we will see the new system.
Hang in there guys, it's being worked on by the best, and trust me, they are about as happy about this situation as anyone else reading this.

Iuse firefox wiht the tab extension. I just middle click in a forum room, lets just say "Dock Chat", it opens a new tab with the "Dock Chat" room, then start middle clicking in each thread I want to read. By the time Im done clicking in all of todays threads the first one has completely load. then I read the first tab with the first thread, by the time Im done the other tabs have reloaded... It makes the waiting a bit less painful and I am reading threads faster... Tabbed browsing, I love it!!!!

That's the old "dial up Porn browsers" trick that was used on the dial up days for viewing small video clips. LOL

I miss this board as much as anyone else, especially while I'm at work and I can't be outside or working on my boat.

But, that's a good point. It's summer guys, you could be outside boating or working on your boat.

Take care of some deferred maintenance, clean and wax your boat, glass up a new swim platform, or go shop for a new restoration candidate in the local classified ads.

actually guys this is still the old server, it is working great after a couple of days off. they are planing now, to install the new one, next Friday. NO ONE knows why it is doing so good.

If this is what the old server can do with just a couple of days off, can't wait to see the new ones work. They must have just got the setup perfect when they redid the old server. I'll bet the dial up guys are even seeing a difference. Good job guys and thanks.

The piece of equipment that broke and was replaced was "almost broke" before ?? Kind of like an ignition power pack goes from running rough to not at all.

It's amazing how a bad or misconfigured router can make your server look like junk.

If you understand TCP/IP routing, you can almost demand god status. IPV6 makes it even more interesting.
