Adaptive Cruise Control
Love this option, I'm a cruise control junkie. As soon as I can turn it on, it's on. Speed limit 55 I'm doing 60 to 63. The issue is there is always someone that either is doing 55 (I can't do 55!!!) or there speed keeps changing.

Adaptive Cruise is great, I set distance apart and the Truck keeps me at that distance even if they slow down to 30. Don't know if it would fully stop the truck, and take back off because when we get to slow I step on the break

Like "hey Google" call so in so, haven't tried Hey "Gemini" yet

I like a lot of the new technology. Wife’s car has adaptive cruise control. I agree very nice feature. I just picked up a new 2025 Chevy 2500HD. Couple things on it I dislike are the tailgate and the E-Brake. The tailgate is electronic. No more handle just push a button. I can see that might be a problem down the road. The E-Brake is just a button on the dash. You don’t feel anything ingage. Just tells you e brake is on. Push again e brake is off. Little unnerving at the ramp. I’d rather have good old pedal to push.

Scott seams like the only things new you like that is new

Heated seats
remote start
Sat radio

all the other stuff is old Tech

Agree don't like touch screens, that's a safety thing. Instead of feeling for the button and knobs, you have to look at the screen to touch what your changing, taking eyes off the road

Old guy, I like the new auto tranny's but if I'm running a 70's B body, give me the old 4 speed

Agree, don't like E park brake, but my new 2025 Ram 2500 and it still has a manual parking break

Remote start has been around for 30 years. Heated seats about 40.
Sat radio for about 30

All the screens in my truck now have dead spots from heat

If we want to talk architecture of engines.... dislike Direct Injection on spark ignited motors due to the extra maintenance , like variable valve timing on DOHC motors, hate dual mass flywheels

I like carbon fiber synchro rings

Love Semi-Metalic brakes, impartial to ceramic brakes

Not a fan of water based paints and today's drab colors

I absolutely hate the auto stop/start feature that turns off the engine when I stop and then turns it on when you step on the accelerator. Thank goodness our car has a bypass switch that turns off this feature while driving.

Only time I used adaptive cruise was when I learned it was practically useless with all the asshats on the parkway. With everyone weaving in and out of traffic it'll slow you down to 40 just to try and maintain whatever following distance you set. In the case of that car it was: almost can't see the person in front of me on the horizon, about 20 feet closer than that, and hey, I want to brush my teeth in my reflection on your bumper.

Hate blind spot monitors (just something else for idiots to ignore while driving into the side of you)

Forward collision (either auto braking or just alerts, if I want to mow someone down or hit someone, I don't want the car stopping me or selling me not to do it)

Lane keep assist (had this on more than one occasion try to turn me into a guard rail or divider during lane shifts)

And for mechanical, the current crop of noisey as all hell, rattle trap, turbo 4 bangers everyone wants to use. It sucks in the Silverado, it sucks in the toyotas, actually it sucked in nearly every small and midsized suv/cuv I drove. I don't care that its a 4 banger. I just don't want it to sound like a 80s Plymouth laser trying to maintain any sort of speed. We've had 50 years of NVH improvements only to revert to a "sound deadening? Never heard of her." Build.... Sorry, thats been a pent up rant for a while.

Agree on the drab colors. I got a nice blue out of the deal. Bright blue in peak sun, ocean green at golden hour and purple flake in the shade.

I love the electronic emergency brake. I can't for the life of me remember to release an E-brake so I always end up burning them up. The electric on auto releases when you hit the gas. Brilliant!
Otherwise I don't like or need any of the new stuff. I order new trucks with vinyl floors and seats. I specifically opted to delete Onstar from my '22 GMC.
I would hate adaptive cruise. If the guy in front of me is going below the speed limit I want to pass him, not have my vehicle slow too. I use cruise everywhere, always right on the speed limit.
The thing I hate the worst is car stereos that can't be replaced with aftermarket. All factory stereos are terrible. And start/stop. I refuse to own that.

I do like the heated AND air conditioned seats in my 2010 Yukon ... or I should say I did ... heat doesn't work anymore in the front seats ... gotta sit in the back if you want a warm butt and back ...

The Electric E Brake can be set up to hold the Car from rolling back on a hill when you take your foot off the Service Brake and before you put it on the Gas Pedal. It is a bit of a pain when you change Brake Pads, cause the Screwjack, used has to be retracted before you can press the Caliper Piston back in.
My Car has a feature where it will apply the Brakes if something suddenly appears in front of Me, or the Vehicle ahead abruptly slows down. It also detects Jaywalkers(though to me they are Fair Game... Got one added to my Scorecard in Dec 2007)
Even when it far colder than Freezing, I rarely turn on the Seat Heaters(have had them in pretty much every car since the mid 90s), but I have the Seat Fans going as soon as the temp is above Freezing. That is why I like Cloth over Leather for Seats. The Heated Steering Wheel comes on at about 8, way too warm out, it shouldn't come on until about 10 below. One one of my Car that feature Quit, the cost of the Wheel was over a Grand, fortunately it was Warranty.
A real useless feature is the Rain Sense Wipers. One Current Car it can be disabled in the menus, the Earlier Car, unhooking the Sensor on the Windshield would revert the System to regular Intermittent Wipers.
