Re: New swim platform

How much does it weigh?

I'd love to have one- the primary drawback is cost, but I'd also want to think about its effect on the boat's trim. Is it heavy enough to make the boat stern-heavy?

(not knocking it at all- looks great- just curious)

Re: New swim platform

here is the quote I got from them.
We offer a one year warranty for workmanship and materials.

Platform package is $ 1195.
Wood shipping crate and packing material is $ 92.
Current freight (fob Phoenix, AZ) to a business at zip code 06850 is estimated at $ 194.
Delivering to a residential address is $ 63 more.
We do not charge sale tax for out of state delivery.

The platform weighs approximately 90 pounds.
Shipping weight is about 275 pounds, due to the crate and packing materials.
You will need to be able to off load it from truck.

We do not charge you until close to shipping.
We accept MasterCard, Visa and checks.

Due to the unstable material and transportation costs,
the platform package quote is good for 30 days.

Our current lead time is 2 - 3 weeks.

We build each Swim Platform per order.

Since no deposit is required, it makes ordering easy.

We only build swim platforms and we?re serious about this business!
We would like to earn your business.

I wish I could afford it.

If they dropped it to like 700 bucks I'd splurge, but I just can't do 1400 right now.

Re: New swim platform

The receipt for mine came with the boat, it was close to $3K installed, the PO didn't do any of his own maintenance but at least I can see the receipts! Its a beautiful thing. If you can pay the bucks its a very nice investment. Mine sits on top of the original platform and still extends 2 feet past the old one but its nice to have a single platform. It doesn't weigh hardly anything (All fiberglass) and with a Bravo III and all my gear in the rear storage lockers I cant imagine it adding a whole lot of weight respectively.

LOL, I just went to their website, if you go to boats by make/model, Larson, 226 LXi & SEi 1997 to 2001, the first series of pics (The boats name used to be Play It By Ear) Its MY BOAT!!!!! We re-christened it after purchase to the "Kelly Marea" in an arch over the ski hook and changed the stripes to just a double Black/Silver Pinstripe all the way around. Its funny to see her in her old "Colors".

If you look at the pic for Bayliner 2350/2352 you'll see the boat we had 3 years ago. We also put one of their platforms on our Bay 2655 cruiser. We loved it!

... wish they'd make one for my 320... we'd buy our 3rd!

I would love to have one on my Chaparral, addition to the intregal molded one that's there now, just can't over the fact that it would cost more than I paid for the boat.
Now if I could afford 15-30k for a boat another k would be nothing.
