had a new top built by the guys at http://www.bluewatertops.com i know the feet are lag bolted into the deck. does this pose a problem not being thru bolted? no acess. thanks
Only one way to be sure... Gotta loosen a bolt to see how its attached.
If it's a toggle bolt, you should be able to unscrew it to the point of having 1/4 or 1/2" of vertical play and it may also be loose horizontally in the hole. The threads (if exposed) are generally machine threads. DON'T unscrew it all the way, as the toggle end will drop off inside. Then a new bolt and toggle will need to be installed.
If its a lag bolt, it should be snug as it unscrews, and the threads are generally fairly coarse. They need to be replaced with toggle bolts.
They may have installed threaded inserts in the deck, but I doubt it because its only a little stronger than lag bolts and a whole lot more work.
