New Throttle?

I have recently purchased a 1979 Glastron and I currently working on restoring it, I was wondering if I should attempt to fix its throttle or just buy a new one. The throttle seems to work alright but it has a bunch of duck tape over the handle and seems to be a little stiff in accelerating. If the recommendation is the later, then does anyone know of any places where I could pick up a new one? Feel free to e-mail me for a picture.

Re: New Throttle?

Welcome to iboats. :)

Look at the main wiring harness plug where it connects at the motor. Older ones are yellow or black, but yours may be red. Whatever you get, it's important to get one with the same color plug. The red ones were used into the early 90s. You might try to clean it and grease it. You have nothing to lose. It's probably mostly the cables, but after this much time the grease in there is a really sticky goo.

You can buy controls and cables right here on iBoats. eBay is another source.
