Just bought a 1990 Glastron. It turns over but haven’t heard it fire yet. There’s a broken line coming from the fuel pickup on the top of the tank (not sure the name of the fitting). According to the previous owner it runs. Fingers crossed. What else should I look for? I plan on changing plugs wires fuel lines etc. any help is appreciated. Never had a I/O. Always had a outboard.

Being a 34 year old boat, do all the maintenance that the prior owner didn't do

You may also want to check the transom and stringers for rot

There is some floor rot but transom felt good and the boat’s exterior is in great shape for the age.

just an FYI. the floor usually rots about 10 years after the transom and stringers start to rot. I am willing to bet the flotation foam is also water-logged.

the exterior should be in good shape because its fiberglass and gel, however its the boat structure that consists of transom, stringers, and deck (floor) that is in question. I would focus on fixing that. nothing will ruin a day faster than your boat sinking because the transom lets go.

All the information you need will be located here: https://forums.iboats.com/threads/how-tos-and-other-great-information.283508/ Look at links 14, 15, 18, 2, 3, 4a, and 4b in that order. go thru every post, video, etc.

The gas tank has a gas line going to a gas filter hopefully, a gas line to a vent, a gas gauge sender and large fill hose.

Drain the outdrive into a clean container so you can inspect for water & metal shavings.

Pull the drive. You need to check the gimbal bearing, alignment and grease the u-joints.

Pull the prop grease the prop shaft. Is the prop in good shape with respect to damage.

Check the bellows for cracks.
