I thought I'd introduce myself and throw up a couple pics of our new toy.
The story begins: with our daughters being 14/12 and quickly growing up, we decided a boat would be a great family addition. As we could spend time fishing, tubing, tanning or just taking a spin for dinner across the lake. My wife originally wanted a pool and I didn't as I know they are a pain and I'd be the one (general assumption) maintaining it every night. So, I asked her, what if you could have a huge pool, tow the kids around and have a happy husband all at the same time? So, our pursuit to find a boat perfect for us began.
Being first-time buyers, I made several calls to my experienced friends and family to ask what I should look for and what is acceptable. My step-father runs a semi-retired charter so he was my first call.
I found a great deal on a 1993 Bayliner Classic 19ft (1952) Cuddy Cabin. Everything looks great on her and she runs like a charm. It has the 3.0L Merc In/Out and seems to be fine for us newbie boaters. We can always upgrade later on if needed. Other than a few small issues, she is really in good shape for the year. I need to fix a seat ledge on the side of the doghouse and the floor in the Cuddy Cabin should be looked at. Other than that, it's a blast ont he water and my family is loving it!
Loading it at the boat launch our first time was a laugh but that's a story for another day....I've done it three time now and I get better each time.
Here's a pic and I look forward to being a part of the site.
