New to Boats and to the forums!

Hi everyone!
I just wanted to introduce myself.
My names Andy and I just purchased my first boat!
I'm really excited to pull her home this weekend and put her in the water!

A little bit about my boat:
She's a 1984 16' Charger with a Johnson 70 O/b motor.
I'm gonna have to put in new seats and benches for her.
I'll make sure I'll post up pics of the boat when I get her home to work on it.
I've been reading a lot of threads about people's restoration projects and have learned a great deal.
I'm sure I'll have tons of questions while I start my project.
The boat going to be mainly used for fishing and water sports.
I look forward to the summer and it's just around the corner!

Congrats! I remember when I first towed my boat home...I sat in it in the driveway...Hell, I STILL sometimes just open my garage and run my hands over her! It's a good feeling having something you've dreamed about for a long time

Welcome to iBoats, I'm fairly knew to maintaining/fixing a boat and all it's components but the people on this site have been very helpful, I'm sure you'll have the same experience.

^I should be pulling her home in a few days and I'll have tons of pictures to share!

I didn't see how to post pictures in the link but I posted them up and here is a link to them.
I figured it was the same for the other forums and tried it out and it works!

I only have these pictures so far but for now enjoy.

Yeah I have wanted a boat ever since I was a young lad.
Fishing is my favorite pass time and I'll be doing a lot more of it this summer!

lol, very true, but they will taste so much better!

Nice looking boat! And as said before, that 70 johnson is a good engine, I had one in the past, very powerful and reliable...until my father grounded it in sand, blew the impeller, and melted the power head! lol

I'm so excited that I went out and bought stuff for my boat!
I found a almost new Bimini top for her for only $90.00!
I also bought all the saftey stuff!
She's coming home in a few days..

I was wondering if there is a wax I can apply to the boat to make her shiney again? (like waxing a car)
If so what brands do you guys use?
