Greetings everyone! New to iBoats, but I've had my 1989 Bayliner Capri Cuddy 3.0 OMC for about five years, now. I've been taking care of most issues and enjoying the boat for the most part...

When starting out on the lake the boat purrs like a kitten and shifts into drive well. While on the lake, the boat runs well and seemingly shifts pretty well...not what I would call 'seamless' like I'm reading on some posts, but alright. Then, when it's time to bring it in to dock and trailer out, the shifting becomes more troublesome. The engine idles very well, but shifting is tougher and the motor will die as I'm approaching the dock and shifting to control speed and direction. I noticed that the interrupt cam is engaged when initiating a shift, but doesn't disengage when shift is complete.

Advice??
Thank you

P.S. I'd also like to change the impeller, bilge pump and add a supplemental bilge pump. Suggestions on brand, size and type?

Howdy

That's your problem
Need a new shift cable or an adjustment, most likely needs cable

I'll let another discuss the impeller, but the bilge is I would get the largest one which will fit the discharge hose. When it comes to a bilge pump you cannot get one to big, but can get one to small
