Re: New to me 1978 Cobalt 19BR

Here's a few more pics. The first is the enclosure(original), I wanted to get a pic from the side but not enough room in the storage unit to get one, so just got one from the back. The second is a better close up of the helm. The speedo was changed at some point in time, looking for an OEM. And the third is the stereo bracket I cobbled together. When I got it there was just two pieces of foam keeping the stereo from bouncing around, thought this would look better and a good way to ease into starting on getting her the way I want.

Is that and ashtray on the helm opposite the cup holder? My old '67 had a cigarette lighter but no ash tray.:)

Very nice boat!!

It has 4 ash trays and 4 cigarette lighters that work! I guess things were a little different back then!

Rocky, if he doesn't want that swim platform, I do! My 1976 Mark Twain with the 351/Alpha I would work perfectly with it. Looks remarkably similar to the Cobalts/Webbcrafts of the period as well. :)

As nice as that swim deck looks, I think I'll have to pass....the wife is putting the screws down on the boat fund for now! I'm almost thinking that I can make one myself eventually. I'm thinking of making one that has the middle section hinged so I can open it and secure it when I have the outdrive up. I've seen a couple examples and am fairly confident in my woodworking skills.
