New to me 40hp Mercury, Have questions

I just got in a new to me 40hp Mercury and I have a few questions.
I can't find the model plate on the outside but I do have the serial number OT299308 .
I would like to know the specs on this motor like year, operating range, ect.

Also I am replacing my 1993 Force (made by Mercury) with this motor.
Will the wire harness on my pontoon with the Force be compatible with this engine? Will the control cables be compatible?

Well I looked at the plugs today and they both look the same (8 pin).

I believe you have a 2000 or 2001 model, can't be sure as my chart ends in 1999. 4500-5500 rpm operating range.
