I just bought a 9.9 hp ted williams from my brother in law. It is the model number 217/58621-1. I was wondering if there was some place where you could download a manual for this engine? I need to clean out the carb and don't know how to completely disassemble it. Its a touch different then the ones I worked on. Also what type of fuel tank, and gas line should I be using? I just hooked up a 6 gallon auxillary tank with a line and pump bulb. It runs for awhile and will kick off every once in awhile? It acts like its not getting enough fuel. Sometimes it runs for 20-30 minutes, sometime 2-3 minutes. I'm running 50-1 mixture in it right now. What should the mixture be for the gas? What oil should I use in the lower part? I seen a little screw on by the carb is that an air/fuel adjustment? I messed with it a little bit, but it didn't seem to do much. Does anyone know how to tune that? Thanks for any help.

OK I got it running pretty good. I replaced the fuel hose on the inside of the hood, and I think it was sucking in air. So I put a couple good clamps on the ends and it seems to run good now. I also cleaned the carb up a little bit. I drained the oil out of the lower, and put some 90w gear oil in it. Is that what should be in there? It seems to be running alot better now. Any other tips I should do to make it run better? Thanks for the link also.

make sure its has marine lube not automotive type, auto type will expand....also I highly recommend changing the drive shaft seals under the water pump and water pump seal and impeller......highly!!! recommend.....

cheap protection and easy to do:)
