I don't know about being able to give advice yet. But I sure can tell people to read the carb manual and follow directions.

see there you just gave the best advise there is....thanks.

as far as the starting, tinker with the Twist grip throttle setting on startup...a little twist this way or a little bit the other, they all seem to want to start best in there own special position

yeah it seems kinda sensative in that regard. I've already decided that the sticker showing the different positionsdoesnt really mean much of anything. I have noticed there is some play in the throttle twist inside the motor cover where the gears meet. It seems the gear attached to he verticle piece has some play and isnt as tight as it should be so there is some lag in the throttle since its a little loose. Is there a set screw somewhere to tighten that that I cant see? Im looking for awa to tighten that but havent found it yet

Re: New to me Eska 9.9

Another quick update. I've had it out again and it seems to be starting easier every time I have it out. About 6 pulls now which I think is pretty reasonable to me. Needless to say I'm very pleased. It is a much better choice on my 15 ft flat bottom than my 25 hp is. Again, thanks for answering all my questions I had

I had it out again and this time I had a few minor issues that I think are a fuel starvation problem. I had it die a few times under power and am wondering if it has something to do with the size of my fuel lines. Can anyone tell me what size and length line should be on these? Thanks
