Re: New to me Force 50 key switch wiring question

what year is it, most commonly on forces (not the merc forces) the start wire is yellow, jump a positive to it which leads to the solenoid, and should turn over your motor. if nothing, try running a negative wire from the terminal block, or engine block to the base of the solenoid (stainless steel part) then try with the key. if still nothing, it could be a bad solenoid, but they rarly go, and if they do go they usually still click

There is a switch that protect from start with the engine in gear. It is located just above the gearshift lever. The pushbottom must be pressed in by the lever to start the engine.
