I'm new here and wondered if someone might steer me to some information I seem to have difficulty locating?

I design and build welded aluminum boats in Alaska, and I have a few new designs in the works now. I would like to design the sterns to carry Honda outboards, but can't seem to find a decent dimensioned drawing of the 90 to 225 Hp engines.

I don't need 3D CAD model, although that would be great, I only need to have the overall dimensions in order to closely hug the engine cowling in both running and tilted positions with the stern elements of the boats. I'd like to make sure the engine mount area and the lockers and transom structure close to that area allow full motion of the engine but little more space than needed by the engine's actual outer surfaces.

Anyone with a copy of dimension drawings, or a link to them that might take time to post a reply would be very appreciated.

Cheers,
Kevin Morin

Thanks Enforcer,

I have those models but can't compare them to the Honda engines without the previously mentioned dimensioned drawings.

Have you contacted Honda?

Bob_VT,

yes, I've tried every office I can find (online) including the local dealers, that's why I made the original remarks.... its almost like they don't want designers to include their engines in new boats!

I've even called national phone numbers only to be bounced around endlessly to folks who can't even understand English well enough to find a drawing.

cheers,

Kevin Morin
