new to wake boarding

does anyone wakeboard in a bay? Cus that will be the only place I can ride it near me other then the atlantic ocean. Is it any different from riding in a lake?

You can ride around BUT your really not gonna do much else in rough water

I have ridden just about everywhere from river, creeks and intercoastal to freshwater lakes. A bay will work okay except for the chop on the water since it is very open. I would find a navigaiton map and try to find a tributary such as a creek or river which will be more protected from the wind. Theres nothing like ridding clean water and it makes wakeboarding way easier.

If you go early in the morning on calm days you can sometimes get a glass surface. I use this site:

One of the choices is a forecast of wave heights. There's also wind speed, direction, etc.
