I'd love to track down a new leftover 9.8 2stroke. Any ideas where I would look for such a thing?

Thanks JB...bump--I'd really like to figure this out before tomorrow since I'd like to get one ordered. Does anyone know where to find a leftover new 2stroke 9.8???

I just tried to call internetoutboards and the message said they will be closed 'till july 11th?? I don't think I can wait that long to order..oh well, but they had the best deal going on those tohatsus

Try contacting Canadian dealers. They have them <br /> new. They'll cost about the same as the 4-strokes<br /> do here. Man what a pita this is...I've called at LEAST 80 dealers throughout the US and canada today. It seems that some of the canadian dealers will ship to the US but it's "hush hush". I've taken several names to report to Tohatsu directly for inappropriate behavior (******* salesmen). I've been calling around asking for a leftover 9.8 and gotten everything from "they're illegal" to "our leftovers went bad and we threw them out...click". <---that's no way to run a business. He will be reported. That program merc from iboats is sounding a hell of a lot better! USA...USA lol

There are none in the U.S. and Canada will no longer be able to get any as of August 1st. They are and will continue to be available to the rest of the world.

They are still around but the few that I found were 20" shaft. After calling every dealer in seattle, chicago, dallas, houston, san antonio, DC, boston, and several in canada, I gave up. I'm sure one could be found but it's not worth the effort.

I'm just not willing to spend $2200 for a 2stroke 9.9. I ordered the tohatsu 9.8 4stroke and will report back after some time on the water
