Are the new tracker o/b's designed and manufactured by Mercury or are they of a Force design?<br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Mike

Don't know what they are selling these days, but if you could provide a model and serial number, I bet someone will be able to tell you.<br /><br />Could be Merc, Tohatsu, Johnson ....... or

the old tracker outboards were produced by johnson and then they sold tracker to mercury marine which is what the newer as well as the new outboards are. no force design. force is no longer manufactured.

I beg to differ.<br />Tracker was the name put on the motors, which were made to order for Tracker Marine. They were produced by various manufacturers. Similar to the way Tohatsu makes engines for both Nissan and Mercury now.<br /><br />If you supply a model and serial number, all will be clear.

No model or serial available at this moment. Seller states that it is a 2004 50 hp Tracker.<br /><br />While we're on the topic then, Force is no longer being manufactured and current (2005)Tracker motors are manufactured by more than one engine mfg.?<br /><br /><br />Thanks,<br /><br />Mike

Mercury is the current maker for Tracker boats.<br />Who makes the Mercury is another question.<br />I don't think a "Tracker" outboard is anything other than a paint scheme. <br />Mine is a 40 Johnson(original outboard) w/ a 50 Evinrude hood that says tracker on it.<br />www.Trackerboats.com may have some info or a contact to ask.

I visit my local Tracker/BPS often and I ahve seen the "TRACKER" decaled motors.. thats all they are.. cosmetics. These motors are still mercury outboards, as far as whats actually inside, you be best talking to the dealer or go to the mercury parts express link, and plug in the motor serial number..http://www.mercurypartsexpress.com/PartsExpress/<br />Note: the site will try & line you up with local dealers to ship the parts, just select one so you can shop for parts if needed.<br /><br /><br />That will show you the details on that particilar model. <br /><br />Sine i got some readers, anyone know where i can get some custom aftermarket parts?
