New(used ) 115 powerhead

Have a blown 1996 88 special. Have access to a 1992 complete 115, ignition, and carbs all intact. Can I mount this powerhead on my 1996 midsection? I thnik I can but have seen many posts about filler blocks and plates that might not match up with out some machining. Any thoughts?

Check shop.evinrude.com and look up both mtrs in the parts diagrams. I think you'll find both mtrs pretty much the same.

Are they both 60* motors or 90* motors, or one of each?

They're both crossflow v4's. Do what boobie said. The only thing to pay attention to is the exhaust adaptor. BUt I believe they will be the same. The part #'s should help you out.
