I just bought a 1985 bayliner 1900 capri and would like to know what all I need to do before I take it out. It has a few chips in the fiberglass, and it needs some work on the interior. Also I'm gonna post in the freq. asked engine section about engine stuff that'll need to be done. Any body have any pointers??

Scratch the part about the engine FAQ, It'll be in the chrysler/force section

Make sure your marine insurance is paid up & might be a good idea to get tow insurance.

Get a sea-tow membership BEFORE you go out!

If not already done this year, change all the ignition stuff, (plugs cap rotor etc.), get timing set. Change filters and oil, clean spark arrestor. Use Sea Foam in the tank and / Deep Creep through the carb. Change lower unit lube. If all of these yearly maintenance items are complete you will eliminate alot of guessing later.

Take it out and run it and good luck.
