New VW bug service manual

Ok, been searching for a free downloadable 2004 service manual for my wifey's bug. Everyone wants $129.95. Have located several "free" service manuals for cars and of course boats through here at times. Any suggestions for the VW manual.

I've always had good luck with haynes manuals for all the cars i've owned.
Yours would be ~ $25-, and can be ordered online or at many retailers.

Have you tried ebay? Really depends on exactly what work you are planning on doing....... the cheaper generic ones haynes, clymer etc BUT if you need to go deep into the motor ....bite the bullet and buy the good one.

Now here is a good hint...... go to the dealership and ask if they have a used manual. ALL of the techs have gone to online manuals and they might have an old paper one they will part with.

Thanks for the feedback. I probably won't ever go into the engine, but have already changed out alternator and can see myself doing other self repair type stuff. Having a service manual for whatever your working on is a plus for me, whether it be a mercruiser, dodge caliber, or VW.

Did find several options on ebay for around 30 bucks.
