Re: Newbie 1987 bowrider restoration project

Well the boat has been completly grinded out and is clean and ready> In the proocess of grinding i found and made myself some holes /craack. 1. The chime on the passenger side of the boat has a crack in the corner of it < Inside i have noticed it is orangish and i have found other areas to be delamintaed when there this color. IS this true.2. On the rear of the boat just below the bildge where the bottom of the hull and transom meet there is a hole I noticed this last yr after the auto paint the guy before me covered everything with. Its small. As for what i did i was cutting the floor off and cut into the side where it steps up to the side of the hull from the bottom. Opps> I intend on doing a entire coat of biaxial cloth over the entire bottom. And then continue with the transom and floor is that acceptable and fix the exteriror stuff afterwards. The only thing im really cocerned with is the chime and the rear . I certainly dont want to go out first few times and find problem with al of my new work>

jsmart,
If you made holes in the hull I would fix them from the inside. You can do a much better job on the repair from the inside. I saw a you tube video of it being done and it was really pretty good. I will try to find it for you.
