I have a 1996 Ranger R70. First boat and not much experience, but, my family is loving it.

I have two livewells front and back. The switch on the sidewall under the throttle says Fill<------------>Empty. When in the water, in either position the livewells take fill up. When I get on step, in fill it will retain water in empty it does just that which is good i think. My question is should their a position where they don't fill up at all? I would like to keep either one of the two empty at times depending on me fishing alone or with the kids.

Yes you should have an "off" position....switch toggle centered? I had an '89 ranger and could fill or dump or do nothing if I chose.
