Update again--I've taken the boat out 4 times now since the problem was fixed. I ran it real hard and have had no problems. Do you guys think this thing is in the clear now? The mechanic had said the test would be it's first few actual water rides.

it's mechanical, you are never in the clear. you are better off. keep up all the preventive maintenance. that will help keep you on the water.

My take on it is This,......<br /><br />You pumped the engine Nearly Dry of Oil,......<br /><br />You Dodged the Bullet,........ But,.............<br /><br />I'm SURE that Some sort of Damage Has Occurred,......<br /><br />How Much,........... Time will Tell.......<br /><br />IF this engine was to Run Great for Another 1000hrs,........<br />It WOULD have been Able to run More hours,.... IF What Happened,............... Didn't.............<br /><br />But there's No Way to Know For Sure,.......

Should he change the oil and look for shaving and such?
