newbie power tilt question

I just bought a 90 HP 2000 Oceanrunner and am not familiar with power tilt/trim. When I lower the motor, it "catches" near the full down position because of interference with the mount bracket. It will keep going down, but after a slight delay. Is this normal? Should I do anything about it- maybe just lube the bracket?

Are you sure it's just not the point where it goes from tilt to trim mode?

That's what it sounds like too me. It should act just the opposite coming up at that point. Moving slow and then speeding up.
