I have a 150 Mariner that had been sitting for a number of years without being started. Even with my severe lack of mechanical ability I managed to follow the directions of the forum (thanks to everyone who replied) and get it running.. WOO HOO!!!<br />Unfortunatley, have no water coming out the "tracer hole" though so I assume I need to replace the impeller at the very least. My question is if I'm running water to the lower unit under pressure from a set of "muffs" would water make it's way to the engine anyway, or does the pump need to be funtioning for the water to make it up there? Just curious and trying to learn a thing or two along the way. I know I need to pull the L/U regardless.
