I recently bought a VIP with a 5.7L mercruiser in it, how can I tell the horsepower, efi or carburated, and which drive it is like alpha 1 and so on. thanks for the help.

Ayuh,... I guess you'll have to LOOK, 'n See whether it's Carbed or Efi....
Then you can determine the Hp...

Serial #s will also Help...

A carb looks just like a car. Easy to recognize. Do that and then you can determine HP

Year of boat help too. Not to many EFI in the 70's or most of the 80's.
