Just a thought -- Like it or not, Every ST trailer tire is made in China/Indonesia these days... even Good Year Marathons, even Maxxis. Most are probably perfectly safe if the 65 mph tire limit is maintained, and the max inflation is constantly monitored; I'm personally leery of China Bomb tires, especially Carlisle, so I just stepped up to Yokohama Y356 Light Truck tires (made in Japan). Yoko LTs have a firmer side wall (hence less heat build up), a much higher speed rating R (hence less heat build up). My trailer load is 2700, and these Yokos are rated at 1710 so I enjoy the added peace of mind. Incidentally, my size was also 193LT 75R 14 -- a narrower tread which more appropriate than a wide tread for a trailer free-wheeler. They were about $15 more each. http://www.amazon.com/Yokohama-Y356-.../dp/B004QL72F0
Many will disagree with my view of STs -- let the dog pile begin!
BTW, to clarify, I have no personal experience with Carlisle tries going boom, but I can read --a little. Yet, I'd be totally confident with them on my wheelbarrow and riding lawnmower.
