Newby needs some help with his Evinrude Sportwin 9.5hp

I recently bought what the title tells me is a 1966 Evinrude Sportwin 9.5hp outboard motor. I have been looking for service manuals, but the ones I have found say they are for 1966 Evinrude Sportwin models 9622 or 9623. Problem is, the motor plate says mine is a 9422 R model. Any ideas?

Hi Vaught. Welcome to iboats. Based on the model number on the motor plate itself, you actually have a 1964 9.5 hp. It's virtually identical to the '66. Here's a complete parts catalog with exploded diagrams and an great all-around tune -up link. You can get any routine parts you may need right here at iboats.
