Bought sight unseen a 78 Reinell cuddy 26ftr. Motor is blown, outdrive gone, but the mercruiser gimble is there according to the seller. He wanted $400 but got him down to $200. He says it is sitting on a tandam axle trailer with roller bunks :D

I'm sending a couple of guys out to change out the trailer tires today. Yeah, I know the floor is probably gone, stringers rotten along with the transom. Even so, scrapping out and parting out, I'll get my investment back,,,,,,,,unless I decide to fixer up! Thats all I need,,,,,,,,,3 boats,,,,,just can't break that habit!

Will be bringing it home thursday. Then I'll be sure to get some before pics of the boat and myself,,,,,,,,,as the wife might make some mods on me!

Yep, it's a disease..I have three boats too.....Wife unhappy but still loves me regardless...You have to look at it philisophically, At least your not out gambling, drinking and catting around every night. She knows where to find you most of the time (working on the boat). Sorry, BOATS...HEHEHE..If that is the worst that you can be faulted for in this life then I say DAMN THE TORPEDOS AND FULL STEAM AHEAD !!!!

Re: Next adventure, Wife unhappy

Why did you do this to yourself? :)

Because I wasn't under the influence of anything,,,,,,otherwise I would have known better.

I sneaked away from my work and checked it out. Inside is a disaster to say the least. The gel coat is dull on the deck but the hull underneath is in great shape. No anitfoul paint, no evidence of any repairs, and no signs of being deformed. Took my hammer and beat around on the transom and it sounds solid. Once I get it home,,,,I'll do a few test holes with a drill bit.

All the manifolds is there and look in great shape. It has always been a freshwater boat. The engine is a Ford 302, so that shouldn't be so hard to find. The heads are off the engine and it looks like someone hydro locked it. More than likely the bottom end is bad.

Awwww I needed something to do,,,,,,,the honey due list will always be there! :D
