You can spray Gelcoat with a PreVal System from Lowe's. Cost less than $10 bucks. 4-5 coats and you'll be good to go. Need some PVA for the final coat so It'll cure properly. If you Gelcoat all the damaged/repaired areas, I'm in agreement that there's really no need to paint her. I'd use a power polisher to compound and polish her and get on the water!!!!

So I've finally gotten around to trying to "finish" the project that started with 'glass bead blasting' the bottomkote off my hull.:)

I had bought a Simonize variable speed buffer last year and finally tried it out today! :eek: Yes, I'm a TERRIBLE procrastinator!
So I used some Meguiars fine cut and it worked great on the original finish, but had no real effect on the 'eggshell' finish left
behind in the wake of the blasting process.:grumpy: Am I going to have to actually sand this to get it smooth again?? Wet sand
with 600 grit or start coarser and work up (down?) to the 600?? I've got no real problem with that, at least I'm not sanding
that filthy carcinogenic bottomkote!! :mad-new:

Any thoughts/input greatly appreciated! Thanx, Bill.;)

I'd wet sand starting @ 220 working up to 600. Or leave it as it is. That eggshell finish is NOT gunna have a negative impact on the hull. That's the opinion of an Old Dumb Okie.:eek:

Thanx WOG!!:)
Not sure if you can tell from the pictures but there is about a 6" to 10" strip on the sides (gunnels:confused:)
and along the bottom of the transom.:blue: This looks like $hat to me and I will use your suggestion for
wet sanding from 220 up to 600 and see what it looks like.:cool: As for the underside it obviously won't
be all that visible on the trailer, and certainly not in the water, so I'll probably just ignore that and
ENJOY THE WATER!!!! :joyous::joyous:
