So i have been having problems with my trailer where the bunks have been bending out, well i got some good advice from guys on here, but thought i would double check with the manufacture, well called and before i could tell them what kind of boat i have, all they would tell me is its too heavy for the trailer. dry weight on my boat and motor is 3450, fuel cap. is 70 gals and water is 30, that is 4250, well i never carry more than 500lbs of gear. The trailer i bought is rated for 6000lbs.

QC Edit: I changed the title and your last line as it doesn't look like the trailer is the problem . . . Product trashing is taboo here. See the last post, looks like an overload to me too Good luck! :)

Well, since this thread is of no use, let me say.. that is a REALLY pretty picture of your boat in your sig. I never send postcards to people, but some scenes make me wish I did.

I hate to tell you but NexTrail is correct. You are very close to and probably exceeding the limits of the trailer.

That 6000 lbs is not the capacity of the trailer. It's the GVWR ... the total weight of the load plus the trailer. If you subtract the weight of trailer (~1200 lbs), you have a capacity of around 4800 lbs. Even using your optimistic weight figures, you are at 4750. I'd bet your actual weight is several hundred pounds higher than that.

Re: Nextrail trailer question

Switching trailers will be costly. Do you feel that the frame and suspension is carrying the weight without any problem? Is it towing well and do you feel safe in doing so? Even if your boat was a 1000 lbs. less, I could see the same problem occurring, just on design alone. If you answer yes to both questions, I'd consider beefing up the brackets and angling them inward. If you do this, I don't see a reoccurence.
