Hello, i have a 1986 110 jonnyrude, when i had the head gaskets done, he put ngks in the motor, why is it that you must use champions in this motor? will any damage result in using the ngks? i will put champion in the motor soon, any insight to this would be helpful, also i want to add i think that the guys out there on this forum are a big big help! thanks again

Re: ngk plugs

Your engine was designed and factory tested with the recommended Champion plugs.Won't hurt to run a cross reference plug ,however I don't like to endorse any service item that is not recommended by the manufacturer. If it were mine, and it's not,I would pull the NGKs and install the recommended Champion sparkplugs.QL77JC4 or QL82C.

Re: ngk plugs

Not everyone will agree, but I have been using NGK plugs in my 115 with good results. Less fouling at idle speeds and easier starting.

ReelDrag,Not anything that can be disagreed with ,in your case.If the NGKs perform better for you the proof is in the pudding so to speak.
