My 19ft stingray is in need of carpet, the factory stuff is flaking away.

Floor under seems to be fiberglass coated but unfinished and rough.

I've been looking at carpet options and dont know if a thicker pile such as 20-24oz is a good thing. We do alot of swimming/ skiing and I hate having carpet still wet hours and hours after we last used the boat.

Does anyone recommend a carpet that doesnt hold in the moisture?

I've considered the paint down material but would prefer to stay carpet for simplicity and appearance.

Thanks:)

Check out a product named Deckadence. Some of my slip neighbors have it in their cockpits. Real nice stuff but kind of expensive.

From their website, Deckadence appears to be a nice looking product! As far as expense is concerned, one usually gets what he pays for.

I dont think you can use that overtons waterbased glue for rubber backed carpet though.

The glue your most likely to use would require a resporator if applied in low ventalated areas.

Will I have trouble with glue sticking to the fiberglass floor?

That deckadence stuff looks great! but I think it is more expensive then I want to invest into this 13yo boat.

I can get this 12' wide gray almost no pile indoor/ outdoor carpet from Lowes/ HD that is marketed towards docks/ boats, but I'm concerned about the life span and durability considering it is so flat.

I used Home Depot's "Roberts 6700" adhesive for my carpet which I bought also from Home Depot and that stuff worked great!
