What is an average size crappie in your area.

This one http://tinyurl.com/5bb5x is about the average I see caught around here with a few going much larger. One of these days I'm gonna have to figure out how to go catch a mess of these on purpose.

I took this one on a casting/jigging spoon in about 8' of water. I was slow jigging the spoon across the bottom through scattered grass. There were striper chasing bait fish on the surface near by.

Sorry to go off topic here, but did you make any drastic changes to your boat, Engine, prop, whats your max speed now? I love the looks of your boat.

You mean the 20' Baker Tunnel hull? I get right around 60 if I tweak everything out. Trim, jack height, etc... The only thing I found was a dirty fuel system. Cleaning everything out and replacing the fuel pump resulted in a mile or two top end, and a much smoother idle. With a full tank of gas(40 gallons), a full tournament load of gear, my partner (a big guy), and both livewells full of water I get about 56-57.

After playing with multiple props I really couldn't make any big gains. I get better holeshot with the five blade, but I seem to get my best top speed with a 3 blade. I want to try a 4 blade and see what happens.

Most people around here are catching 10 inchers.
The people that know how to find them will bring in a slew of 12-14 inchers.

I only know of one lake, and 2 fishermen, that bring in 17-18 inchers.

I went Sunday(7/17) and caught about 60 crappie on Lake Eufaula, Okla.
I kept 20 that were over 10 inches. The biggest was 13 inches.
In August we will catch 14+, you have to wait until it gets about 100 degrees and the lake drops.
A 13 inch Crappie in your pic is what I call Slab size(meaning big)
