NISSAN 40 HP NS40C 361A-1 82914 what year is it

i got this Nissan 40 on a pontoon boat
I think it is a good motor from what i read about it
I just like to find what year it is before need parts
also the prop on it has markings a ( J ) on 1 blade & the # ( 11) on another
I think I would like a faster prop but don't know what to look for

Tohatsu/Nissan motors don't go by year for servicing -- the model/serial is what you need. If you have a nostalgic curiosity, you can call Nissan Marine at 214-420-6440 and they may be able to look it up for you. You can also d/l your owner's manual at http://www.nissanmarine.com/tech_talk/owners_manuals.html. You probably have plenty of prop already. Check your tach. You want to hit 5200-5700 at WOT. If you install a steeper prop, you probably won't get to the correct WOT RPM, especially on a heavy 'toon. I have the same motor sounds like mine is a 1987 40c I also have owners manual, it's in rough condition.
