nissan 40d intermitant no start

have nissan 40d that will about half the time fail to start have checked the out put of w./gr to orange wire from exciter coil and always have correct voltage and resistance even when it will not start . but when it fails i am not getting any pulse from the cd to the coils the trigers are working corectly so I believe i have a bad cd

Have you run the actaul checks on the CD as outlined in the service manual?

i had it in my garage and it passed all the test in the SELOC manual so put it back in the river and it ran all day. went down the next day and no start. so ran the test again till i got to the output of the cd and it failed. so went to dealer bought new one and installed it this afternoon just got back from ride with wife all working well stopped and started several times.
