No beep when key turned

Hi once again,
I have a issue with my 2002 volvo penta 5.0 GXI-B , serial # 4012063886.
At times when I turn the key ONE notch I don't get any response from my dash , like beeping and gauges don't respond. Then if I turn the key to the start position the engine will not start.

On another hand at TIMES when I do turn the key and the gauges and beeping does occur ,the engine starts up on "Q" and runs very smooth, then after about 2 minutes the engine shuts down , their are no alarms when engine shuts down like this.

I am woundering if the two situations above are related ? And is so hat could be the issue ?

Look at your safety lanyard. It will do that if there is a problem with it. Or if you don't have one, check the ignition key, and wiring related to ignition 12V.

Most likely they are related. Sounds as though there is an issue with the key switch/wiring

You can ohms test the switch to see if it is failing

UPDATE: I have replaced the ignition switch and no luck, but I do get the warning beep o my dash now 99 % of the time.
I have tested some of the electrical circuits, I'm not good at electrical so having someone come in to trouble shoot this for me.
Right now my engine will not start at all, and I'm leaning towards the pump as it seems to be starving for fuel. I have hooked up to a auxiliary tank and no luck, changed filters.
I had a friend turn the key ONE notch as I pushed in on the (sharder valve ???? ) not sure if this is the right name, we're the fuel pressure gauge hooks up to the pumps lol. Anyway on the high pressure side lots of pressure but on the low pressure pump it just drips out, fuel pressure kit on order. Also when I removed my fuel filter it was only 1/2 full.
My next question, has any body ever used the AFTERMARKET fuel pumps and if so what ones and are they any good.? Just in case I have to go that direction.
