I have a 1994 mercury 40 hourse 4 cyl out board, I had the water pump and impeller replaced but still no water , what would be the next step? where is the t-stat on this motor, could the water pipe going down to the water pump have a clog? how should I check this.

Hey thomas, did you get all of the old impeller out? it is very common for a piece of the old impeller to remain and block the water passages.

Could be a clog in your pee hose. It'll take a good half minute for water to fill the block and start peeing. Giving it long enough? I don't think it has a thermostat, but I thought that of the inline 6's and apparently I was mistaken.
