Ayuh,....... I agree, the 1st thing to do on a 3.0l, is to add a canister type fuel filter,.......
But,....... The one in yer picture can't be used on an I/O powered boat,.... It's gotta be a metal canister,.....
The one in the picture, Can be used on an Outboard powered boat,....

They do make a version with the aluminum bowl but after a year in salt air they can be !@#$%^ to get off. I think that Racor filters are the best but extra gaskets add more possible leak points, and then there's the hassles with removing the bowl. I just use the OEM style ones like I have for years.

I’m for sure adding a water separator. I’m just getting rid of the can style inline filter between the pump and carb.

Ayuh,.... Haven't looked over many newish cars lately, eh,..??
Dipsticks have been disappearing for well over the last decade,.....
We have a 23 Traverse and a 25 XT5. Both have dipsticks. Previous cars were 2017, 2016, 2011, etc. They all had dipsticks.

Can you give an example of a car that doesn't?

The Hurricane engines that Ram uses now have an oil level sensor, just for example. GM doesn’t have anything so far

VWs, Audis, and Porsche haven't used a transmission dipstick since about 2000. The engine dipsticks went away about 2017 or 2018

The 9 speed auto in my 2015 Jeep has no dipstick for the trans oil. A plug must be removed then a dealer has a special probe that goes in the hole and samples the fluid then tells you when the fluid goes bad , low or needs changed. Only 128 dollars for that service at local Chrysler dealer...and something else to go wrong that will be very expensive to fix when it does !

And Stelantis (Ram, Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep) and GM trucks with 10 speed transmissions, and Fords with 10 speed transmissions
Actually last GM transmission to have a dipstick was the 6L80E and not all of them have one. However it’s not hard to check and fill usually
