Hello, my 14' aluminum Lone Star does not have a drain plug. I believe if I just purchase a "twist drain plug" and drill the correct hole through the back, this will solve it. Is this the correct way of doing it? If not please let me know if the proper way. This is my first boat so I'm a new to all of this. Thanks!!

Re: No Drain Plug?

Pics would be great. These had some sort of a drain somewhere. Mine has one in the floor with a venturi on the bottom to create a vaccum while moving. The original plug is gone but I have ordered one from a guy that custom fabricates them for feather craft boats so i am hoping it will work. They are 1/2 inch british standard pipe thread from what I have heard.

I would used a garboard drain to make sure you get a good seal. A hole through thin material will not be enough for a rubber plug to seal.

What type of drain is back there now? Any pics of the rear floor?
