no drain screw???

:confused: I am working on a mid 80's 45 HP mariner outboard and there is no drain screw for the lower unit.theres a screw that says flush and theres a screw that says vent.where do you drain it and where do you refill it?thanks

There should be a screw below the gear houseing and prop shaft on the side of the gear case. You squeese the oil in there untill it comes out the vent above. You must have just missed it..........Jerry

your vent screw on the top is where the oil will come out, there should be another fill screw on the bottom of the housing. it should be close to the torpedo and the skeg area. hope this helps

Its down there...get those old knees bent a little more...(might be painted over)
