no fire??

hey me again, I started my motor for the first time this year (83 merc.115 hp inline 6) It started right up and was idling for about 2 mins. then quit,so I pulled 2 spark plugs out one from each cdi and there was nothing I could hold the plug and not get a spark at all. I don't make a habit of holding the plug while rolling it over but after 5 hours of cleaning wires and messing around I was willing to take the chance, has anyone got an idea what could cause this??

There is a troubleshooting procedure for that motor's ADI ignition at the CDIElectronics web site. First disconnect the black/yellow wire at the switchboxes. If spark returns, the wiring harness is bad or the ign switch is bad.

your awesome thanks you guys are a huge help,probably wouldn't have a boat if there wasn't people out there to help each other out, thanks again meggy
