Re: No forward gear on hydroelectric

Good morning and thanks to all, I did some paint scraping and found a small round freeze plug looking thing with the numbers J3499311 on top of the motor. also, motor has 3 bolts on thermostat cover with #313418. Hope this is helpful. Drained lower unit and refilled with ATF to try and flush and clean if this doesn't work will contact you phatman. Electrical power to wires is as it should be. Mucho thanks for help. this motor has a brand new powerhead so would like to save it.

To ship one either make a crate or find some ultra-industrial duty multi layer corrugated cardboard, (industrial equipt. or maybe a refrigerator box) cut to fit, lay it on heavy and don't be stingy with the tape. Helps to fill the empty space in the box a bit with more cardboard. Make a cardboard sleeve for the shaft, a bit longer than the shaft. Same for the skeg. I think mine was left by the postman. The box looked pretty beat up but the contents arrived the way they were sent. Mine came without prop which probably helped the box survive. Might check around some industrial park area or new construction area for free materials.
